NEW BRITAIN POLICE UNION ENDORSES MAYOR STEWART FOR RE- ELECTION

NEW BRITAIN—For a second time, the union representing New Britain Police Department employees has endorsed incumbent Mayor Erin Stewart in this November’s municipal election, citing her strong support of Public Safety workers.

“I am incredibly humbled to receive the endorsement of New Britain’s Police Department,” said Mayor Stewart. “Our community is fortunate to have such outstanding individuals serving the City of New Britain. These men and women are on the front lines of keeping our community safe. They are mentors for our youth and good will ambassadors for our City. They are engaged with our public and constantly working to develop innovative ways to stem crime and keep our community safe.”

The Mayor continued, “These employees have been good partners in ensuring that the future of our City is strong. I am proud of our working relationship and thank them for coming to the table and sharing my vision for a strong, and welcoming community.”

During the 2015 election, the Police Union also endorsed Mayor Stewart for another term.

“Local 1165 is happy to again endorse the Mayor for reelection. Local 1165 feels that the Mayor is a strong supporter and partner of Public Safety. The Mayor works tirelessly for the citizens of the community and is a compassionate person,” said Officer Blain Rogozinski, President of Local 1165.
