PRESS RELEASE: NBGOP ANNOUNCES TREMELL COLLINS TO FILL AT-LARGE VACANCY

NEW BRITAIN REPUBLICANS ANNOUNCE TREMELL COLLINS TO FILL AT-LARGE VACANCY

NEW BRITAIN—Mayor Erin E. Stewart and the New Britain Republican Town Committee today announced that Tremell J. Collins will round-out the GOP at-large slate for Common Council. Mr. Collins, a registered Democrat, received the unanimous endorsement of the New Britain RTC vacancy committee at its meeting on September 1st.

“I am so excited that Tremell has decided to join Team Stewart and he has already hit the ground running,” said Mayor Stewart. “At 28 years old, Tremell is part of the ‘New Generation of Leadership’ we are bringing to New Britain. He is deeply invested in our community, serving as a civilian advisor to the New Britain Police Explorers, on the Board of Directors of the HRA of New Britain, and as a youth minister at Vision of Faith Ministries. He is a wonderful and winning addition to Team Stewart!”

“I could not be more proud to join Mayor Stewart’s slate to serve as an Alderman-at-large in my hometown,” said Collins. “I am passionate about helping the youth of New Britain, especially those who are most at-risk. If they learn to make good decisions early in life, it will help them make even better decisions as they grow up and become positive, contributing members of our community. New Britain is finally moving in the right direction, and I want to help continue the progress.”

In addition to Mr. Collins’ civic involvement, he is currently an Assistant Store Manager with Walmart in Hartford. He attended New Britain High School and received his GED from Hartford Adult Education.
