Stewart today unveiled a comprehensive “Smart City” plan to save taxpayers money by focusing on making city buildings operate more efficiently.
Stewart said she is grateful to have received the official Independent endorsement for Mayor of New Britain.
Carrying campaign literature and with four members of her slate by her side, Republican mayoral hopeful Erin Stewart went door knocking Tuesday afternoon on the city’s west side.
“I want to fix our infrastructure system first and foremost,” Stewart said. “You can fix the facade, but if the underground is crumbling, what good is the face-lift. I don’t believe in short-term fixes for long-term problems and that is a common theme under this administration.”
A meet-and-great by the paraprofessionals’ union turned into a full-on debate Tuesday evening at the high school when Stewart took O’Brien to task on taxes.
